Hi Everyone -

I don't actually fly any quads, but I have been using quad motors in my park jets now for almost two years and they will be my go to style of motor in the future for all my park jet setups.

I started this thread for a couple reasons, firstly to give folks a chance to share what props work best for them with what motors on quads, multi rotors or even park jets.😎

Secondly, I'm looking for some input on ideas for a quad racing prop for some of my park jet setups to broaden my scope of what I might try out.  I have had some good success with the King Kong/LDARC 6040 two blade and most recently the Dalprop Cyclone T5050C triblade

Specifically, I am looking for a prop or selection of props to run with a 2305/6 2750+ kv type motor (doesn't matter if it is 2 or three blade, but 6" or less in diameter) on 3 and 4S.  Efficiency isn't too much of a concern as I am primarily looking for speed, but I would like to try and keep the amp draw below "65ish" amps🙂

Also, looking for a prop that doesn't have too aggressive a pitch starting near the hub as I will be mounting the props on my motor in reverse or pusher configuration for use in my park jet.  A fellow from my flying field gave me some EMAX AVAN 5x5.65 props to try out, but with their pitch being so aggressive close to the hub, they aren't really usable for a pusher setup.  There is about a 3mm gap between the motor and prop hub in this picture, and if I try to use some spacers to keep the prop from resting on the motor, I run out of thread in order to tighten it down properly.🙄

I look forward to seeing what props have worked for folks on their quads or any other setup and thank you in advance for your input and help with my specific situation🙂

Cheers,

Scott

I primarily use the Tiger motor F40 (2400kv) on my jets too. I haven't tested a lot of different kinds of props but have tested a few and I can tell you to stay away from the bull-nose props as they are horrible when it comes to efficiency (but do provide awesome power which in my opinion is not worth it). I now primarily use only 2 kinds: the HQ 5x4x3 (my goto's and personal favorites for 2400kv+) and the dalprops 5x4x3.  They both provide plenty power and are very good with efficiency too both on 3S and 4S! I run my motor and prop combination with T-motor F45 ESCs...

On my 5" quads i stick pretty close to either the gemfan or the dalprop 5x4x3.

They both have the typical 5mm hole.
Fly like your mad at it.

I agree with bullnose propellers... for me that is a red flag ?   They just feel like they lack something and they tend to be  more noisey too. On a couple planes it would literally make the whole craft howl at certain speeds.

And yeah, sometimes the motors also run hot with bull nose. Not worth it esp. for planes...
