So ive been flying my quad for about a week now and its ok. Its alittle hard to tune to where it is super stable but that may be my bad tuning skills and the old firmware im using. The ntm 1000kv motors have pretty good power but my flight times are pretty short with 1800 3 cells. Only get about 3-4 mins. Here is some flight footage from a few days ago. I had some orientation problems which i will be fixing later on. Skip to the last min of video for the quad.

You need to get a 2200 mah at least. Also read this over a few times.
Just read the first main post in this thread: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675613

Just skip over the videos, they will only confuse you more but the text instructions help a lot.

Ive watched the videos from dhsracer ( i think thats his channel) on how to tune the board but it never got to the very high oscillations like his did even when i put the p gain into the 250s. Ill take a look at the rcgroups thread. And ill see if i can borrow my buddies 2650 batt

The battery sweet spot for quads (lifting, speed, range and flight time), I have found to be 3300 4 cell...if you lack a HD camera and just want to race, 2200 3 cell will work fine...granted this is all dependant on you doing the rest of the math correctly...

Well im not sure how much power i will have if i go much higher than the 2650. I ve had to give it full power to slow a decent with the 1800. Not sure how much power ill have left with a bigger batt. Ive looked around and alot of people are using the 1200 kv ntm for their quads. Should i have used those instead of the 1000's?

I said dont watch the videos. Read the text instructions. I just printed off the instructions on the first post and brought them with me when I tuned my quad.

i started over on the tuning and i think i have it dialed in pretty good. i have a slight oscillation so i may play around with the P gain a bit more but I'm pretty happy with it for now. all i have to do now is program my fingers to fly properly.

Naza GPS, getting placed on the bird this evening...

Is There a Go Pro mount? Do you have a Go Pro? If you have a Go Pro, add a Go Pro mount. Many people including myself enjoy a good on board view.

I like the gopro, I like the Contour, and I prefer to record the FPV footage from the video feed and not from the HD camera, the HD cameras are heavy and they do not display the video link quality, which is the point of FPV...
