Get the one with the 200 steps so the resolution if not too low. With out it, your controls are very jumpy and hard to control sometimes. But if you have a programmable radio, check in the mixes. Many radios come pre installed with elevon mixing, you just have to adjust the settings

Thanks for all of the feedback!

Welcome to RCPowers forums,
Like the others told you, if you do not have a delta mix in your radio, you have to buy an external V-tail mixer. On one choice, The mixer plugs into the Aileron and the Elevator servo connectors on the receiver, and the two servos plug into it. There are two mixes you can use that do very close to the same thing. If you want to know more, go here The controls we use.

Go on YouTube and search dx6i elevon mixing. There are tons of videos on how to setup this radio including how to get extra throw with the elevons. Hope this helps

Perhaps you already read this thread, but if not, I have used this thread many times and followed jcrankshaw's instructions to the letter for my Dx6i and the elevon mixing works first time every time if you follow what he says.
