OK, I`m not the first to do this but, I thought I would recycle the box from my new Volantex ranger 2000 in a different way.
The box plane weighs a huge 405 grams without battery and I have yet to fit a servo for the ailerons and the bottom sheeting.
It has a 34.5 inch wing span with a 7 inch chord and it is 26.5 inches long from the prop spinner to the tail.
As cardboard is hydroscopic I will have to wait till the humidity to drop as well as the wind.
The motor is an RC timer CF 2821 1534 KVa swinging an 8X 4.5 prop.
It will have one servo for the ailerons and one for the elevator, in a vain bid to save weight I`m not activating the rudder😃
Even if the box plane crashes it will have had a more illustrious life than going straight into the bin.
Andrew Newton has built a couple of box planes that actually fly better than their contents, I`m keeping my fingers crossed I have the same success😃

It's like getting a free plane with the one you bought 😃

I like it!

Yep a free airframe with every plane purchased.😃
I was hoping the bottom of the box would be polystyrene so I could have hot wired some things like a wing or fuselage, but it is really dense card board.
Like Jeff would say, what have you got to loose?😃

😂😂😂😂

If it doesn't fly good you can always see if you can land in the garbage bin???

If it doesn`t fly it will either go in the recycling bin or used to light my wood burning stove.
Or even set fire to it and then fly it into the garbage bin😃

I have had to wait for ages to fly this machine because of the weather, but finally I was able to go out this evening and do the maiden.
The machine is a horror to fly as it is very pitch sensitive and twitchy,  I was shaking during the first flight 😃 . I will increase the size of the epenage and reduce the size of the elevator.
The stupid Mobius didn`t record so I will have to do it again.
The weight of the plane wasn`t a problem, as expected it was pretty fast.

I'd suggest to check if the SD card needs to be formatted before filming, that's the problem I had when I tried to record my first airsoft game in 4 years and I only found out 2 weeks after that game that the camera doesn't like SD-cards that have been connected to my PC unless I formatted them within the camera.

In hindsight I could've bitten my own ass when I found out, I've used that very same camera on other occasions before and it worked flawlessly, so I must've been aware of the problem before.

I`ve had those problems but I`m not sure whether I had run down the battery when the mobius could have turned itself on in my pocket. Obviously I`m not going to blame myself.😃
I am going to format the Mobius again just to make sure.
