The German scientists certainly did have help, but not of the little green type, it was this genius.

The Nazis eventually put a man on the moon and gave the US a big leap forward in aero technology due to operation paper clip.
I just wonder how much influence the German designers had on the SR71. Most of it I guess but Kelly Johnson would have to take all the credit.

Having said that about Von Braun putting a man on the moon he drew his insperation and knowledge from an American rocket pioneer who was ridiculed in the press and ignored by the US government until 1945. By this time Goddard had died and the importance of his work was only recognized after his death.

In my head
I seem to have the capacity to remember and recall most of what I see on TV or read in books.
I am wondering if the numerical side of my brain is full of information, as I can`t remember anything to do with numbers including birthdays, telephone numbers and I am hopeless at maths.
Thank goodness for the pocket calculator

You are not alone. I cannot remember names, but I have a crazy good visual memory. I once took a gm automatic transmission apart and rebuilt it from memory and it worked great. I see it once and it's in my memory.

That is amazing, I wouldn`t even consider tackling an auto box
I don`t have a photographic memory, it`s more of an ability to recall useless facts.

I think I am more like you, not sure about photographic memory but I will take apart almost anything and re-assemble it. I use to rebuild transmissions as a teenager.

This is strange, I was only watching a video on the Custer channel wing the other night.
Boeing and Antonov have built jets with the exhaust blowing over the top of the airfoil to give their planes Stol.

This is the funny thing about this plane though. It doesn't really need much of a runway to begin with. Very short takeoff and landing space needed because the lift comes from airflow over the channel from the props. It has lift very quickly from very little movement at all.

You would have that thing floating out of your hand as soon as you touch the throttle, probably land in your hand also.

The CCW had a stall-speed under 11 knots, you could walk beside it holding the wing as it flew.
