I', going on a trip to Hawaii in Feb. I'm looking to take a small plane with me to help pass the time while pool side. Any suggestions on a small, packable, plane that I can either build quickly, or purchase cheaply for my trip?

The perfect "plane" for that is not a plane. A blade mqx or equivalent quad copter! Really fun to fly especially in a confined space. FED50H and Boxermad just got less expensive ones that are working really well. Doing quads really helps keep your finger/brain connection in top form too.

My travel kit contains my BladeMSR-x Helicopter and my eflite ultra micro mustang. I made a foam box that safely holds them both, my DX6-i, the 4-port charger and the batteries (in the battery compartment of the charger). The box fits in my backpack or the suitcase. Both models use the same batteries, so that's a bonus. If you expect windy conditions, of course I think a HK funfighter would be the way to go. it's still small enough to be packed in a suitcase along with the clothing. I'm not too sure what the FAA regulations say about LiPo packs in your luggage. You might have to send them on ahead or buy some locally.

Thanks for the info guys, 1 MQX is on order! The 1 SQ was first choice but I have a DX6i (they can not bind, correct?)
