"boinked" is a much more appropriate term -as in the factory owners nephew got caught boinking the comely HR secretary in 1st aid by uncle K---y (the guy that owned the place) - (true story) they both were dismissed

^&#%$#!!! Ok, now THIS really pisses me off.

I get an issue involving an external client who in the same day, has one of their users open a ticket for using firefox on a website that uses activeX so we send the ticket over to their local techs to go explain to the user that activeX + Firefox = doesn't work, use MSIE 7+ with the site.

They send their guy over who explains it, educates the user comes back and replies to the whole thing, advising that they have educated the user, it's fixed, they're now using IE8 with no issues, issue resolved, thank you please don't come again.

Tonight I get crap for closing a ticket without confirmation from the client that it's working even though everything in the ticket (Including screenshots) shows that it's resolved.

If that's not totally screwed up I don't know what is.

My users are screwed up too, and they are not "external."

Case and point:

1. They constantly complain that we do not let them drop off any laptops (or computers... anything) at our office for service without first attaching the work order to it. All they have to do is input the work order/ticket and rubber band it or tape it to the laptop, but they want to complain (in their own words): "I cannot enter my own work order because my computer does not work; you are going to need to create one for me."

Us: Um, there are over 500 computers at your site... you could login to any of them and create the work order. Heck, you probably have your own desktop computer, too.

Anyway, in trying to be pro-active instead of re-active, we setup a Kiosk at the entrance of the techs' area, so the requester can enter his or her own ticket right there and leave every one of us the heck alone. You would think they would be appreciative, but the truth is they do not want to create the ticket because they are special and it is too difficult.

Process to Create Their Own Ticket:

1. Logon
2. Double-Click the "ITIS HelpDesk" icon on the desktop
3. Internet Explorer will launch and logon as you with all your information already populated. All You need to do is click on "New Ticket" then answer basic questions like Type (Hardware/Software/Network/Website...), Priority (they always select URGENT), Subject, Description...
4. Print it
