i would really like to try the sub 250 g route as it seems a good way to fly without to many rules, though no doubt someone will make up some. What the best way to get into the  lightweight part of flying?, must confess i prefer biplanes but will have a go at anything.

Plenty out there to choose from,I just finished an F-22 and am just starting an F-16.The F-16 I scaled down to 65%,they are some what small profile jets. You also can find Bi-wing plans. WIN_20200701_19_20_53_Pro.jpg  WIN_20200701_19_17_45_Pro.jpg

So, the sub-250 rule, does that include or exclude the battery?

Built the HalfPipe Mk.II today and without the battery, it's a sub-250.

All up weight ,ready to fly needs to be under 250g

Looks like this one will need to go on 2S for it to do that then. It does have more than enough power with the 3S though, so it could definitely work on 2.

I found a set of P47 plans, nice thing, dry weight 200g, I'm sure it could be adapted to fly whatever scale up or down to reduce or increase weight you wanted, I have downloaded tham myself as it's floating my boat, or should I say launching my plane.

😮 That is impressive considering how well formed the models are. Looks like a lot of foam and glue to get'em like that. Is the foam 6mm?

Yes ,6mm MPF,no hot glue involved and not much foam at all. They went together over night.

I just got back from the maiden flite of my 250g SU-57,last night I switched my motor to a quad racing motor bringing it up to exactly 250g.This plane was awsome,at less than half throttle it was fast and tracked so good.I couldn't be more happy right now😎 IMG_20200725_074001.jpg

I've got an FT Mini-Mustang ready to put together - might see if I can get that under 250g for a laugh!

It's got potential I think but we'll see as I need to have that on 3S I think for some spirited ground avoidance 😃

I bet that little racing quad motor sings on full power on that micro SU57  Jimbo ðŸ˜ðŸ‘

Well the FT Mini Mustang is built and it came in at  262g with a 2S 1000 battery on board.  But, which is very odd for an FT build, it's nose heavy!

I was planning on running 3S but seems that idea is out of the window as my 3S 1000's won't fit and I need to be a bit creative where the battery is going to get it to balance.
Guess the Racerstar 2207S motor is a bit of a lardy lump compared to the recommended one!!

Next time out with it I'll try to line it up for a full throttle straight run.I bet it could hit 90 mph.
