Just finished this build, tried some new techniques. Since the foam board has a paper coating on each side to provide stiffness I was concerned about the paper peeling during flight. So I put a bead of hot glue along the leading edge of the canard and vertical stabs. I could have taped them but wanted to try something different. The entire plane was constructed using hot glue adhesive which works quite well. The cf spars were secured using foam safe ca and control horns were made from thin credit card type plastic. I was really impressed with the design and ease of build of the kit!!!20130705_161603 (1).jpg 20130705_161649.jpg 20130705_161702.jpg

Already had a very brief maiden and nearly a heart attack too. The way my radio is set up elevon function is enabled in flight mode normal (N) but not in flight mode 1 or 2, which I wasn't aware of. Before the maiden flight I tested the controls to verify movement and direction and unknowingly bumped the flight mode switch out of normal. I throttled up and launched only to find I had no roll control, only elevator. Meanwhile the plane was making a very graceful climb to the right, over the pit area. It came back around 360' I cut the throttle and made a very nice landing. The entire 10 second flight was sheer horror thinking I was going to lose my newly built airplane, but it worked out perfectly.

After discovering the problem I was going to fly again but was unable due to noise restrictions that morning.
