Hey guys, so most of you saw the blended wing body design I came up with a while back. Well, I modded my design by adding 2 more elevons to the plane, stacked ontop of the already existing elevons. After that, I spent an hour or so doing the mixing to get the elevons to act together for elevator/aileron control then SPLIT for yaw control! I can also split both at the same time for airbrakes. Man, this works PERFECT, tell me what you guys think.

great job scott! i have been working on the same thing with my b-2 project, how the heck did you solve the stability problems? mine wanted to go every where(like a triplane).decelerons are espically handy for when you need to turn very tight(like a baseball field). and from what i learned from my project scott, is that without a 3 gyros minimum, you should NOT fly in the whind, unless
you wand to turn months, even years of work into white sawdust.

ps, could you give more in depth info, preferably a schematic of your mixing plan? thanx

Delta wing/flying wing kind of setups are normally very stable from the wing slant. If your B-2 is having stability problems, I would blame your airfoil more than anything, I found the airfoil can make or break the flying wing.

Here is a wiring diagram for the plane, I used my rudder channel for the nose gear. You CAN NOT use the rudder channel for one of the duckeron mixes, it won't work.

Regarding your wind comment, my plane handles the wind perfectly, much better than many of my other parkjets. I think it has alot to do with the weight, airfoil, and size. As you can see, it sports a 4 foot wingspan! But what I didn't mention, is the AUW of 22 oz! The wind like gestures the plane around. Gusts make landing difficult, but the plane otherwise handles the wind VERY nicely. I couldn't be happier with this design, it has out performed my expectations in every way.

P.S. I didn't have ANY gyros plugged into that plane, it is THAT stable by itself!

yeah, i didn't know about kf airfoils back then, so it spiraled out of control like your b-2 in its testing stages. i am going to have to revisit the flying wing then..........

Well well well... GREAT JOB SCOTT!

That plane flies well, but I love how you set up the 4 servos for your decelerons.
I would do that for my plane... but I don't have a 5A BEC, enough mixers, or even enough servos... =/

Only advice... for the "flight cam" part of this video... you should have reduced the sound!

i was thinking and you see those vertical stabilizers on the sides. what is you were to add a hinge on the front and have a push rod extend the rear out like a duckeron but turned 90 degrees until vertically

Think about it, have you ever seen a plane with rudders on the ends of the wings. For good reasons, there are much better places to put a rudder(or rudders). The problem was, the wing slides ground ward fast, whenever the aircraft banks into a turn. Those wing ends are too small and in the wrong place to be the solution to the problem. Having an control surface airbrake put the nose and the thrust skyward during a banked turn, I thought , was brilliant. And even a bonus, Before the air brakes. that wing landed at a very fast speed. Too fast. That's fixed. Scott came up with the perfect solution for the flying wing.
