Question... the wingspan is 30 inches in the drawing but when i print it, it is only 25 inches. I have my scale 1:1 and i dont have "fit to page" or "use model extents" check on. Any help?

Oh, i hate wasting so much ink printing and the shapes are full of blue, is there any way to just have the inside shapes empty?

to have the inside shapes empty all you do is you right click on them and choose erase or hide. that should do it. and for the printing troubles do you have the page size set correctly. and i forgot to mention some things. in camera you should also have it set for zoom extents to center the image.

Thanks for all the help by the way, this is a great skill to have for model plane flying . I kept messing around and found out that I had to have the "use model extents" turned on, its all good now. I already made my zephyr on sketchup and printed it all off also what should the page size be? Just for future reference

you dont need to complicate it that much. what i do is i get all the parts in separate sketchup documents then go into camera, then standard views and find top. that should orient it top down like. then g oback into camera and go to parallel projection. after that go to file, print and when the print menu comes up ther should be an option for tile printing. make sure everything else is set the way you want like page size and whatnot. that shoul give you a scale printout of the part you need.

Nice tip! I think you had posted that else where so I had it in the back of my mind and will use it if I ever print tiled plans. I tend to print large single sheet plans so I export and use GIMP to finish.

IM SO EXCITED!!!!!! I just made my first PDF plans!!!! Took all of 10 minutes to do (not counting trying to get the right export pixel sizes) . This is awesome!!!!

Now how does this work exactly, i could upload them to a site like mediafire and people can download them?

Ok the videos by dredogol are obviously old and stuff has changed...so in posterazor, do you still need to set the image to 106 percent?

Also when in the final pdf plans, how are you supposed to print them? There are very many settings and i dont really know what to set them at.
The reason I ask is because my 31 inch wingspan in sketchup is now 32 inches when printed off.

So im checking every line, the sketchup image and the image in gimp match up perfectly, with no differences at all. So it must be in the posterazor to pdf conversion that is making it big.

HOLD YOUR REPLY

After a lot of pages i figrued out that i need to set the print options to "Size" and "actual size" to print. Also in posterazor, the size needs to be set to 100% instead of 106%. Now it is printing like it should
