Halloa fellow FPV pilots ๐Ÿ™‚

(or aspiring FPV pilots ๐Ÿ™‚)
Recently Skyzone released an update to one of their 2 goggles: the Sky02X.. Now this is basically their entry level goggle nowdays, but I would classify it as a mid-field goggle.. Definately not a budget goggle and the specs & features reflect that..

Link to the goggle: Skyzone 2019 Sky02x in multiple colors

Specifications:
resolution: 854 x 480
field of view: +/- 32 degrees
IPD range: 59 - 69mm
receiver(s): 48 channels / 6 bands
diversity: yes
dvr: yes
fan: yes
headtracker: yes
All kinds of planes, multi rotors, heli's, cars & boats..

Aomway released a new V1s recently too. Nice improvements but I have reservations now.

Primary differences that have me leaning more towards Skyzone's

Plus is the front facing camera.
Plus is the removable reciever modules.
Plus is a choice of colors ... wow what a concept huh.
Finally I really am not pleased with the glossy black frame that the Aomway used with this one.  It just seems like things will warm up even more in the direct sunlight
... and would it be enough to soften glue or change temper of the foam padding.

So yes... this is a tremendous introductory deal but gives me very little time to react to it 😋

Excellent review Dutch and thank you sir.  As always your timing is impressive.

Thank you sir ๐Ÿ™‚

Wellllll yes.. I came across the updated Aomway as well offcourse, but the changes are so minute from their previous version.. I couldn't find a reason to try it :$
Having said that: the "old" Commander worked just fine.. The build-quality of the Skyzone is lightyears ahead (of any other goggle) but I enjoyed using the Commander...
And yep.. I liked the grey version more as well ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes.. it's that heat thing.. Black is actually my favo color ๐Ÿ˜‹

These are still on preorder I've noticed.

Can you tell me if they accept the fatshark type dioplars?

I haven't tried that as I don't have diopters, but everybody tells me the Skyzone goggles use the Same diopter size..

Very... very nice.  They do fit well and weigh practically nothing.  I like the remoted battery idea.  Plug it in and put the battery in your pocket removing again that much more weight off the goggles.

I get what you mean now about the 'field of immersion'.  I feels like the screen is pulled further away from my face whereas the Aomway's placed my face right up to the screen.  Not an issue and in the one sense...is a win.

Why ? While using goggle's out in the hot sunlight I would get smudges on the dioplars while sweating. If I pressed the goggles too close to my face and touch it would plant a smear on the corners of the lens.  A couple three touches later it was a definite smear impeding my clarity of vision.  Stop everything and power down to polish up the lens again.  It doesn't help at all that Indiana is normally pretty humid most of the time.

I had to come in and charge up again but wanted to be sure and mention well done Mr. Dutch. This had proven to be a very worth while upgrade and well worth the price of admission.

Great review Dutch,,,,,i purchased a pair myself,,,,only downside=DVR footage= awful.     Are there 2 record modes for the dvr as the handbook states that the dvr does MPEG/AVI and if there is such a fuction then I cannot find it in menu.  Thanks mate.

Thanks man ๐Ÿ™‚  yes.. every aspect of the goggle is Great.. and then there's the DVR's ๐Ÿ™‚
I think that might be a part of a previous / different goggle that found it's way into the manual...

You could be right. Will you be reviewing the Fatshark HDO 2 goggles,if so I look forward to that.

Haha ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  dude.. I can't afford a HDO2 but even if I could.. If I order it, my reviews will be online several weeks later then the "reviewers" that get the goggle for free..
So it will cost me a lot (basically it will cost me 3 or 4 other products) and on top of that it will be useless for me to review it ๐Ÿ˜‰

AND.. I do now have a Skyzone Sky03 Oled.. I feel zero need for any other goggle ๐Ÿ™‚
