For oldies like myself from UK - the names : Ken Binks, Chris Foss, Phil Ramsay were household names for RC.

Another name from the grave ... Skyleader RC.

Put Skyleader and some of the best model designers together.....you get a model designed primarily for Display Flying ...
Quote : "This aerobatic bi-plane was created by Chris Foss and Ken Binks and is based on the prototype ¼ size Pitts made by Phil Ramsey. It has a wingspan of 56" (142cm) and an engine size of 60 2-stroke or 90 4-stroke. The skymaster was successfully used by the Skymaster demonstration team for over five years; at home in air shows at Biggin Hill, Sandown Park, Sywell, Graveney and the World Championships at Woodvale, and abroad at Beaumont in France. The team of four fliers, noted for their models’ colour scheme of yellow, black and white, performed various aerobatic manoeuvres in formation, including the simultaneous release of coloured smoke flares, for which the Skymaster as a model was ideally suited."

I was introduced to the Skymaster by Phil Ramsay - who I knew back then. Marvellous machine ... I acquired another after leaving UK purely by luck.

Its had its ups and downs ... but still flying today ... with ASP 61 2str

Last year I was offered ANOTHER Skymaster and its possible this one has some history with the Skyleader 'boys' ... I travelled to UK and picked it up ... and sure enough it is in the Skyleader Yellow and stripes ...
I installed an ASP 91 FS engine and waited for suitable day to fly ... yesterday - 7 April proved ideal ...

For me - its one of the best flyers ever ... little unfortunate throttle servo failed on the maiden flight but damage was easily sorted ...

I'll fly anything if I can launch it ! Youtube : solentlifeuk
