Not sure I spelled that right. But here are a few vides fro this last weekend from the "Way too small for my flying skills" park near my house. First one is my buddy Shane..noob practicing with my Champ trainer...great plane to learn to fly with by the way.

Second video is me putting my RCP Extra 300 into a tree about 50 feet up. Took us about an hour using a rope with a bug bolt tied on the end to knock the plane out of he tree. Light damage to the foam...fixed with some CA..and a bent motor shaft...have to order one. good times though.

Enjoy!

FYI...building another F-35 V2 right now with ailerons...Shane put my first one into the ground...hard!

Recently after getting stuck high up in a tree, I came home to take a break and gather my strength and see if I could Google my way out of it. Earlier I had tried my extension ladder but didn't have the nerve to get off of it fully extended to finish the climb to my plane. I read how some people were using weight and fishing line attached to a slingshot and firing it up into the tree with some success.

So I got my fishing pole and drilled holes in some golf balls and went back to the tree and practiced my casting until I felt confident with the arc I would need for the rescue. Eventually I deployed a perfect shot right over the branch and after the golf ball sank to the ground, I attached some heavy nylon string and pulled it through so I had both ends and was able to shake my plane down. I'll bet the slingshot would actually be easier and much more accurate, but this method has gotten me down from 3 tree's so far ( the 4th I had to use my ax )

As dave would say, "is that a tree? Is that a tree right there?" My friend has done that to many times to count. He has a 12 ft tent pole he uses most of the time.

Dan that looks very familiar and a good candidate for the fishing pole technique. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten that down for you. Here's a picture from the morning after of the demonic tree, and some of the tool's. I forgot to mention that sometimes you need to bring along binoculars in the rescue kit for those really far away planes
