I usually go back at least 1 inch. Maybe a little more just depends on the size of the wing. But for a v2 size plane I would go between 1 and 1.5 inches

Its just foam not perfection. build it close to the plans and it will fly, then learn to customize. But most of all, JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!
Cuz tooling around is just not my style of flying. Full stick and full travel control surfaces.

Don't know if you can see the gentle arc? I sand way back to blend it in.

I am curious how folks have done theirs and why. Thanks.

This is what I do:

Bevel the inside edge of each leading edge before fixing the 2 layers together. That's reinforced packaging tape on the outside of lower surface. then put the 2 sharp edges together and stick the tape up to the outside of the upper surface. before pushing the 2 surfaces together use your thumbs to crush the inside of the fold. Depron is easy to bend if you have tape on the outside of the curve first. It makes a very strong, dense, ding-proof leading edge with a nice curve, good for KFm2 or KFm4, or even a Clark Y type of airfoil.

These are good for the KFn4 symmetrical airfoil but what about the KFm2?

You can apply exactly the same shapes...
