It`s a good job you don`t still ride the scooter, there`s nothing funnier than seeing old geezers on those things.
We have a local scooter club and they only come out when the sun shines.
I had a Hillman Imp rust bucket but it was pretty nippy with the Climax based engine.
The Climax engine was designed to power water pumps on fire tenders😃
Bill McGoven won the British Touring car championship driving a Sunbeam Imp 1970-72.

Hi Luis🙂
Nice to see you back from your winter retreat.
I am so pleased I did get it sorted and give her a second chance.
The Rookie isnt going to win any beauty contest or sailplane competitions, but for relaxed flying it is a lot of fun and perfect for the rookie pilot.

Coventry Climax engine .... twin SU carbs .... oil cooler and powered brakes !!

Pal of mine who got me into Club Racing - had an Imp with a 3.5 Rover engine in it ...
I raced a JPS Mk2 Capri 2.0S with quad Weber force draft carbs, High lift 275 valves, flow manifolds and exhaust, recalibrated timing and ignition .... gear setup and provided by Manx racing Developments Warminster ....
The 2.0 engine was derived from the Pinto engine - difficult engine to tune and most 3rd party gear actually only made more sound !! Manx Racing got her to over 270HP at the wheels ...
Sadly I lost my licence for a year before I received Unlimited Race Licence ... that put paid to my rallye career !

Later I had a series of the 2.8i Capris ... wanted a Tickford but never happened.

Ended up with a Vauxhall 3.0 24V Carlton ... the Diamond model ... beautiful car to drive - the torque was amazing. Had to sell her when I left UK. Now drive a T5 tuned XC70 (255HP) Volvo ... not quite the same fun ...

Sorry sidetracking thread !
