F-18 V2

“Flew it with no problems!”
I didn't think it was possible. I took my F-18 V2 plane out for the maiden flight today and it flew with no problems! This is the first plane I built that did not crash on the first attempt.

“You should have seen the looks”
That the beauty of these planes you can rebuild any one or more parts of it when you crash not if you crash. I can't even remember all the time I replaced the nose of a plane. Heck I used to take 3 or 4 of prebuilt noses with me to the field on my first jet. that way I could cut off the broken one and just tape a new one on at the field. You should have seen the looks I got from a couple old timers that are in my club.

“Plane just seem to come together with ease”
Fun build. I just finished building this plane the other day and I have to say It's another great plane by RCPowers. The plane just seem to come together with ease. I have not maiden'ed it yet but i posted a video kinda showing how you can set up the control surfaces. The target audience is more for beginners.

“The 6x4 prop doesn't touch the ground”
My maiden went great!!. Awesome plane, cruises with NTM motor 4S, and wind is not at all a problem. Very Stable in the wind. My favorite build till now!!. Thanks a lot for this wonderful design. Best part of the design I like is the 6x4 prop doesn't touch the ground during landing. All my a earlier models had some problem or other. Looks like this will be a very durable plane.

“Great feeling of control!”
It is not as well rounded as the F-22 (the F-22 can get a little mundane at times) but it definitely is an exciting plane to fly. Yes, KF4 is great on this plane especially for stability. I also think it helps with high alpha performance. I was just shocked at how I could control the plane at little or no forward motion, and at extremely high angles. I’ve seen videos of hovering planes, but they had thrust vectoring nozzles. This plane was achieving angles similar to Dave's Su-37 with gyros and canard action! Have you done high alpha? What a great feeling of control!

“I think its my new favorite”
Thanks Guys, i haven't been doing this long, I've made the F-22 and flew it pretty well and thought i would give the F-18 a try, I'm so glad i did. I think its my new favorite. but honestly I've got to give Dave huge props for putting that Program together, honestly its helped me out immensely.

“Carve up the sky wherever you want”
Took my F-18 out again this morning, forgot my camera at home though. I can't get enough of this plane. With the MegaJet it can do some amazing maneuvers without stalling out. You can pretty much just carve up the sky wherever you want. Just point it and add throttle. Getting decent at high alpha with spoilerons. I am starting to do it at lower and lower altitude. I am going to have to add a bigger motor and ailerons to the F-22 otherwise she will start to get neglected with the F-18 around.

You need two 27x39 sheets plus a little extra if you will be doing kf's.

And KFs highly recommended! Gives the wing more strenff and alot more speed. We were flying the F-22 V2 and new Euro V2 and this F-18 V2 in some heavy winds yesterday and the F-18 really stood out. The F-22 was getting tossed around on the yaw and the Euro on the pitch from the heavy winds. F-18 didn't seem to care at all.

Its got a super perfect grip right underneath to hand launch too! Just perfect. Its large size makes it super stable but its "not too big of size" makes it sturdy so we were able to crank the speed way up and it stayed solid. My favorite is super fast, followed by a loop, then fall into high alpha and just hang there.

ONE THING TO WATCH FOR THOUGH! Air cooling... Yeah... It has big old air intakes that don't act as air intakes! I know.... You'll see when you put it together. Its a trade off we had to do to get the air to the prop smoother, hatch easier, and body stronger...

We'll have some pics up later of the little plastic spoon air intakes I cut in just below the cockpit (and under the strakes so they are out of view) and that did the trick just fine, so just remember to cut air holes.

Got the audio course and the F18 - free. This is amazing value. For a Parkjet wannabe with three complete un-flown modela (X31, F22V2, MiG29) this course will be very useful - and save me pain and money. Oh, did I mention I trashed a plane yesterday (e-glider). Skills and confidence low, enthusiasm high!!

Hey thanks, glad ya like it! Yes, got some video filmed for next Monday's YouTube video. This Monday's (tonight's) is just some filler about the camera plane. After this week, lots of F-18 videos.

Hey thanks man. We do give quite a bit away for free but with the course and these planes we put far too much into them to give away. They are years of research, many months of development time, instructions, customer support, etc. Like Alan.Powell said, we are focusing on bringing the best long term value. In the long run our planes, info, and course is designed to save you big bucks down the road.
