How come no one mentioned this? - $120
http://www.rctimer.com/product_786.html

Needed to complete it:
control board - kk2 - $30
radio and reciever - most likely already have
extra arms and props - $15
2200 3s battery - most likely have

If you want to be safe, the motors that come with it are not very good.
sunnysky motors - $20 per motor - $80 total.

So total with the stuff above is $245...you have to assemble it technically but it is really easy and can carry a gopro.

If you want a mqx, dont get it off horizon hobby, $170 is a rip off. I got mine for $70 gently used...

MQX is cool...but i've found the WI toys 959 to actually fly better...it is lighter weight but super stable..has an actual 2.4ghz radio....a progam flip button...dual rates you can dial in..and a camera for onboard video..all for $65...i dig mine a lot..the MQX is cool but it didn't do much for me...but as stated above the best ones are the ones you build yourself....

Yes the best quads are the ones you build yourself and yes the WL toys quad is better, cheaper, and can do flips

The 65 pound quad at http://www.red5.co.uk/quadcopter-with-led.aspx is great fun. I've had a couple of these tiny things that you grow out of quite quickly but this one grows with you. You can set limits on the controls, but 100% it's capable of loops and rolls.

Unfortunately mine was lost in the field, if it was a bird crash or the added weight of the camera (808 #16) that threw the flight controller off I don't know. I waded through the field for some time before giving up, but now, after the farmer has been there with the harvester I was able to find some parts (two props and the camera.) So, this is the footage from the last flight :

Might just put another one on my wishing list for Christmas, but no more flying over fields where it can get lost.
Every successful landing brings you closer to the next spectacular crash

Your choice will either wait until prices come down or build your own.

I have bought a RC mini heli last week, when I had bought it, it works very well but after three days it did not work as well as before.
