camera ... they talk GPS to each other ... model tag and camera base. So if closer than 10m ... the camera cannot determine correctly.

love that idea 🙂 would you mind posting your setup for this , and how it works etc

But believe me - its only good for slow flying stuff and gentle turns !!!  Its an expensive bit of kt that does not live up to its promises.

Version 3 in progress .... same size profile 6mm but will have :

Double vertical and horizontal fuselage thickness ... basically 2 x 6mm for each.
Prop will go back to rear of model to avoid that weak section in wing
Wing will have a KF style profile to it emanating out from that second thickness fuselage to help increase wing stiffness.

OK ... reasons :

1. On examining the 'wreckage' I find that the wing although stiff when constructed - now flexes significantly. I believe that after the first crash - it may have weakened the CF spar to wing foam and second flight stressed it further. Using same Cf again with more care in gluing + adding a KF profile can hopefully solve that.
2. Each crash has highlighted the weakness of that fuselage front section to wing joining area - doubling both parts of fuselage and adding the KF should increase that areas durability.
3. Placing motor / prop at rear will avoid cutting out structure that causes weakness around the slot. The doubled fuselage will then be a continuous unbroken section length of model.

'Fingers crossed' this one survives more than 2 flights !!

Now cutting second sections for doubling ... decided that a full double thick wing may be better... this allows me to case the CF between, while having the two sheets glued stiffens a lot as well.
12mm wing depth .. I can bury the servos more. DSCF8364.jpg

Serious CF spar work embedded before laminating the two wing sheets :

Nearly there... just 3D printing a new more dense strong motor mount plate.

Then its mount the gear on .. check balance ... paint !

Photos to come

The stiffer fuselage will allow me to fit the Soloshot tag through fuselage instead of to one side .. it weighs 40gr + 5gr holder.

Rx / ESC will be above wing to avoid 'ground damage' ...

Looking forward to seeing that one go Nige - looks a lot stronger than the last!

Towards the end it would have been travelling pretty fast suggesting some sort of wing flex may have come into play.
The trailing edge of a delta tends to be flexible and is well behind the CofG.
Once it does you are very lucky if recovery is possible before the ground intervenes!

That was along the lines I was thinking. When I was checking over trying to decide fix second time or not ... I found that the wing was flexing far more than when built. I have sneaking suspicion that the CF spars had broken loose in their slots.

This third version has better CF and also some laid to try combat any other flexes.

Just have to wait good day to try her out.
