I am relatively new to the electric power arena. I have built 4 of the RC Powers planes and 2 of the RC Foamies plans, plus a 3 plans converted/modifed to choroplast builds. The one constant problem I have is lack of power. I have used a motor available here in Thailand labeled ABC with "0" specs available because they are readily available coupled with no 30% import tax,and the long wait for Turnigy from Hobby King.
I usually end up putting landing gear on them as the usual hand launch has proven most un-successful. Not enough power. End of park flyer!!

As I live out in the boonies everything is mail order, so reliability is a must.

My newest project is an F-16 from Park Flyers International which has a known lack of power on the recommended a 6x4 prop and 2217-2200kv motor.

Has any one got a better motor-prop combination for the park Flyer? I think this plan will need all the power it can get.

Hi there CaptLeMay.

Seems like the similar experience when I started the hobby about 4 years ago. A bit difficult to get parts I needed at that time. However, online sources making it gets easier for me to get. It just takes some time to reach my door step.

I have personal recommendation on this one and the combination should work.
1. Turnigy or DYS 2826 2200KV
2. Emax ES08MA II metal gear servo
3. Hobbywing 40A ESC
4. TGS 6x4 prop (remember to balance this first) or Master Airscrew 6x4x3
5. 1,800mah 3S or 4S battery 40C. Or you could go 2,200mah 3S.

The F-16C G1 could take the combo listed above.

Hope that helps, CaptLeMay.

I think we all have to order parts no matter what country we are from and yes wait times can seem like forever.

If you want a real decent speed setup from HK order the PropDrive V2 2836 2700kv motor, 6x3 TGS prop and for a 3S setup a 60A ESC minimum and for 4S 80A. Batteries I would recommend 2200mah and 65C rating. This setup you can run in almost any of the parkjets of similar size here on the forum no matter which designer or model.

You will love the speed

I use this one, SunnySky Angel New A2212 2450KV. This, a 50 amp esc, a Master Airscrew 6x4x3 and a 2200 mah 45c lipo.It has more power than the Turnigy motor from hobbyking but is not overpowerd and not more expensive at all.

Keep everything you have and scale your plans down 15%. Only real change is prop slot. It'll do the trick to keep you on your toes!!!chas
