20130305_033136.jpg 20130213_020650.jpg 20130213_020650.jpg  hey guys

I'm Stanlley (yea, double L) from Malaysia and I was most interested in flying RC planes but no time nor money for it till recently. Did fly 4 channel eSky helis though.
Saw Dave's YouTube videos all the way back in 2009 and was really inspired.

So I visited the US for Christmas 2012 and I searched for a large toss foam glider, which I had as a kid when I visited the US in '94 (yes quite nostalgic!) AND I found the AirHogs Titan glider in Toys'r'us for $16

Brought it back home to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and the RC conversion began. Dave's tips are most invaluable for the build, from the Depron control surfaces, carbon reinforcement, motor size and prop, EVERYTHING!

I had the HK 6 channel Tx/Rx combo from a water rocket project which is now used for this project.
here's the build album of the said plane on Facebook.

of course i really need to fly alot more. I think my next build project would be the F35..

Dave's, Scott and Luke's contribution for the DIY RC pilot has been most inspiring. Thank you sirs.

great job, think it's harder converting a glider to r/c than build a f-35 and getting it to fly, the f-35 should be a breeze for you

haha I would like to post a video of the plane.. but I never flew a RC plane before and well, crashed her on the maiden flight (she flew straight on launch!!) and well, pilot crashed her
definitely need to spend alot of time with the simulator! (duh)

fixed her back up, flew again.... and crashed 5 secs later. Patched her up, one more flight (*wink* Dave) and crashed again... (the plane pitched down on power, i now know the thrust axis is pushing the nose down, so I will bend the mount to point up vs straight)
fixed, flew and crashed. Again.
wash, rinse and repeat.

Last time i flew her, she went further, but was out of sight due to the trees and then when i saw her again, SMACK ! clipped the tree with the left wing. No major damage.. but need a new aileron.
ah well
