Well, after spending the better part of my Friday afternoon fooling around with the Spektrum DX6i and four mini servos taped to my desktop, I have some info to share that may help some other newbie (like myself) set up their F-35 servos for an elevator and ailerons only airplane. I set my F-35 up without a rudder because I find I rarely use it yet (I am a beginner pilot and just takeoff - fly a few figure 8's - and land). First I tried to mix the dual aileron set-up with elevons using just the TX without a mixing harness. Can't be done! The TX is set at the factory (and correctly so) that if you are using elevons, you do not NEED ailerons (they do look cool though) as a beginner pilot. I'm pretty sure you can affectively fly this airplane with just elevons if you want to. So... if you set up the dual aileron servos as per the instructions in the TX manual, you will not need a Y harness for the them. It's just left aileron servo into the AUX port and right servo into the AIL port in the RX and that's where the manual leaves off. Not enough info for us newbies, right? So here is what I hope is some additional, helpful information. Keep in mind that the AUX port in the RX is the FLAP switch in the TX. So if you need to reverse the left aileron servo, reverse the FLAP servo in the TX. Next go into the TX "set up" screen, scroll down to "wing tail mix" and "ACT" Dual Ailerons. Next go to the "Adjust List" and scroll down to MIX 1 and ACT Aile>Aile. TA DA! Dual Ailerons are set... Next I set up the two elevator servos so I did not need a Y harness for them! Easy to do... First plug one elevator servo into the ELEV port and the other into the RUDD port in the RX. Then go into the TX "set up" screen, scroll down to "wing tail mix" again and "ACT" V-TAIL. Next go to the "Adjust List" and scroll down to MIX 2 and ACT ELEV>ELEV. Then scroll over to the REVERSE screen and reverse one of these servos ...TA DA! both elevator servos are set to move in the same direction with NO Y harness needed. Next scroll back to Set-up list then down to the MONITOR screen. Use this screen to check that the throws for your servos are set to be EQUAL. If you have been playing in the TX like I was all afternoon, you may have screwed up the throw percentages (like I did for the ailerons). The monitor screen will show you if you did so you can fix it because when using different channels for each servo on the same axis, this will be a BIG problem in the air if the throws are set differently for each servo on the axis! Not for nothin', but the manual that came with this radio is lacking a lot of this important info. Oh, and about setting those servo throw percentages... PM me if you are having trouble. I discovered a lot more about setting this TX that is not mentioned in the manual AT ALL. Good Flying! JOHN

Sorry for posting in the wrong section. After reading your reply and rechecking what I did, it looks like I made a few more mistakes then just posting in the wrong section! I am way to new to this hobby to post a tutorial in the first place! I was just trying to be helpful. I now see that some of what I wrote is incorrect and I am sorry for that. Wish I could just delete the post. Thanks all you guys in the know for not jumping on my head for the mistakes. I'll be more careful in the future (and will not be posting another tutorial any time soon).
