I have a DX8 radio. I also just purchased the V3 set of plans.
In the video's and parts list, you mention using mixers. As the radio I have has this function built in, do I still need to use the mixers?
When I was watching chapter 10, I see that you have one of the newer radios, but your still using on-board mixers.... is this a preference or is it out of necessity?
Life is about adapting. I can't fly planes anymore, so I do the RC stuff. It's a blast as well.

it all depens on your servo setup....the DX8 will do an elevon mix..run 2 aileron servos...and other stuff...but the mixers are necessary if you need the servos to do other things....

with any radio with more than 6 program mix, virtually can make all imaginable control for aircraft (duckerons capable on my old futaba 9C with 7 mix program) .. mixers are needed only in low end radios or if you want integrate gyros (just the good ones over $20), but this is another thread
good luck!
