The Gripen looks a hell of a lot better than the F-35.And its from Airflows home country, nuff said..No need to give me stats from a jet that is from my country.Opinion stated....I prefer the Gripen.

I agree i personally think the F35 are really ugly as well Sure the Gripen is made in Sweden , with all the high end tech coming from USA lets not forget Saab partnered up with Lockheed
but lets be frank here if you were looking for a real milti role fighter would this be your choice if your country is 22 times larger then the makers country ??? like i mentioned above ..

Gripen is a great jet if your live in a small country like SWEDEN when you look at most of the sales Gripen sold to ?? there small countries Hungary Czechoslovakia, with the exception of Africa .
Canada is 22 times larger then Sweden

The only thing I see hard to compare vs an F-16 is A2G. Start hanging 2000lb weapons on it routinely and you are going to get an education in wing life over time.

Other- Hose drogue refueling is slow. An equal number of F-16s would spend less time "on the tanker" would hate to get caught with your pants down
Its the Bling factor what they say its capable of Yet Never seen a dog fight in its life all here say like how they talked abour the F 35 Consider the industry experience in offensive air work and I would prefer an F-16 for large offensive work.

they should test it take a squadron and fly over Moscow should be able to get back with out refueling but i don't think they would make it back alive

And when you look at it appears lots of similarities to the 16

"Saab partnered up with Lockheed"

Saab/Lockheed!? But there's another project going on, the Boeing/Saab T-X project.

i dunno man when i see there planes looks like there re working 4th gen aircraft that one to me looks like a copy of Hornet rear section and T 38 front end combined only thing making it a single engine set up I personally think twin engine is where Canada is looking at specially being a country with the longest coast line in the world Buying a single engine jet would be the biggest mistake for canada we need dual engines
