Nice finish! I did a similar job on my Su-34 a couple years ago. I didn't realise my score-and-fold capability had improved so much since I first built the Su-34 and the replacement fuselage front was nearly a foam's width narrower than the original all-round. Was fun coming back to it as I had activated the rudders and upgraded the prop from 2 to 4 blades.

You gonna give the F-18 any welcome back presents? 🙂

Hopefully a issue free flight
All flight controls activated already
My second SU34V5 I used DTF and reversed the plans so the score/fold joins were in the inside - - nice perfect paper corners on the outsides looked very smart

Sounds nice! I'm working on an Su-35 V5 currently to replace the Su-34 I killed (was gonna do Su-34 V5 but found I had bought the V5 pack before it was released). This ones gonna have everything but the canards activated and a KF4 wing - it'll be my first KF4 plane! But I'm mostly looking forward to how it will look - I'm getting the joins a lot smoother than they were on my first build. 🙂

gotta activate those canards 👍
have it on a switch at least and when in high alpha..... flip that switch !youll love it

I've considered putting the canards on the flaps switch to point them down for high-alphas. Is that a good move or are they best applied as forward-elevons?

Mixed with flaps would be awesome for high alpha
always been a bit sceptical about forward elevons and haven’t tried it as yet so couldn’t comment

I'm guessing flaps is how you set them then. 🙂

The plane has six servos currently and the ESC's built-in BEC is handling the load. Will have to see if it can take another two.

All my Scratchbuilt planes are KF4 (with plate wings) after i found local conditions dictated KF2 min and KF4 ideal transformed my flying experience
Havent tried the flap thing yet

that’s my next build 👍

.

been learning/practising high alpha with 3 servos - 2 on elevons and 1 for the canard switch

moved up a level now & upgraded my SU 30 to 5 servos  - 2 elevons 2 thrust vectoring & 1 rudder /  no canards available on this girl

my Su34 Has kf2 and find I can control alpha better than kf4
Su30 has no Kf’s just the wing plate as the thrust vectoring is more than enough and didn’t plan kf’s into the build

now if I mix all of the above - elevons, rudder, canards, thrust vectoring & flaps/flaperons
wow I’ll have one sick ass manoeuvrable plane then my thumbs are gonna need a whole new training session lol

now you have done it that’s going to have to be my next build ☺️
