It is a worry that people with no idea are tasked with producing complicated things.
I suppose this is why certain projects take so long and involve so many "experts" and become outrageously expensive.

In my opinion if they had dropped the stealth aspect which was obsolete at the time of starting the new JSF all they needed to do was upgrade the F15 ,Fi6 and F18 and carry on developing the Harrier.
But that would not have made the vast profits and created so many jobs.
Although the Harrier has been scrapped the other 3 jets are still being continuously improved.

It wasn`t developed quickly was it? the British are still waiting for the rest of VTOL Navy version because they had so much trouble with it.
There were too many people demanding too many things from the F 35 and multi role aircraft usually end up as being a Jack of all trades.
