Can having wires from ESC to motor too long cause desyncing
Iam aware it will up the amp draw

I'd just try it and see what gives the better result, having long wires between the receiver and ESC and placing the latter close to the motor or having long wires between the ESC and the motor and having the former close to the receiver.

My guess would be that, while problematic, a long signal wire and 2 long constant voltage wires are still gonna be less of a problem than 3 long sync-critical wires.

But if u wanted to get fancy u could probably even replace the normal "servo" cable with a double screened coaxial cable and have the signal on the center wire, GND on the inner screen and +5V on the outer screen. Maybe that would allow for longer connections without causing problems.

As long as the gauge of wire is suited to the application - then length from ESC to Motor should not be a problem. You will not get 'de-synching' ... you may have a slight voltage drop if too thin a wire / unsuitable wire used.

I have many models where I use mains cable stripped to lay into wings / long fueslage for ESC to motors ... so I can have ESC's next to the batterys.

Her's my Lanacaster ....

What to avoid - even though this info seems to have been ignored by many model manufacturers - is not to over extend battery to ESC ...

I like how u used the german (and possibly european) standard colors for in-home power installations (brown = "active" or "phase", blue = "neutral" and green/yellow = protective earth) ðŸ˜‚

Yep ... allows me to sort phase connections to ESC ...

Its actually universal European colours ... UK used to be Red Black and Yellow ... till EU took over !!

I prefer to not post my preference on that subject ... after the 12th Dec election - then I may !!

Well for me it's always gonna be the same simple thing, no matter who's in charge of it.

As long as the EU arrogates to take control over anything beyond simplifying traveling and the trading of goods among its members it needs to be eradicated.
