I like many of you have been purchasing from Hobby King for years. I purchase for many members of our club as well as my self. Thru march this year I have purchased just under $2000.00 US. But because of Hobby King problems I have purchased almost that amount from other suppliers as well. Last year HK purchases excceded $2500.00.. But now for reasons unknown HK is holding my orders, and money as well as other members money. When "chatting" a verity of excuses are presented. Best one was during a false spring with clear and warm days here in Oregon, the excuse given was that the snow and ice was so bad that employees could not make it into work to process the order. One member ordered foam from a company in the UK and the order has been lost for months. Only to find out the company is owned or run by HK, and he is still out his money.

So whats the deal is Hobby King going out of business or just holding money to cover their creditors?

If you plan an order from HK the best bet is to order just over $50.00 in the states to get the "free" shipping. But you mite do better in Vegas

So far I haven't run into any problems like that from HK.

Been buying from HK for 7 odd years now and quite frankly cannot fault them, everything I have ordered has arrived in good time, sometimes super fast. My account was disabled 4 days ago as I apparently used the wrong username,,i spoke via live chat to one of their operators about 4 hours ago and it has now been sorted. They are currently offering free shipping within the UK,,,they get 5 stars from me.

I too have spent far too much money at HobbyKing over the past 7 years... I have only ever had one issue with them. One of my orders was never received. Tracking showed that it made it from China to California, and then it was returned back to them for some unknown reason (probably a customs issue, I'm guessing).

It took them 8 MONTHS to credit the purchase price back to my account After they confirmed that the shipment had been received back into their warehouse. Note; They did not refund the purchase price to my credit card, but added it as a balance on my account, so I had to order more stuff from them... I was also out the shipping costs, as they refused to refund that.

They have not totally lost my business because of this one bad experience, but I do try to source most of my stuff from US based suppliers and local hobby shops now.
