I was gifted the HK Color 250 quad frame about 3 years ago maybe ... BIG thank you to FED50H...  and I had only tinkered with it few times and that was only flying LOS.

I decided to get busy and give this little guy a fair opportunity to be like a modern day quad copter. I upgraded to the Matek F4 STD flight contoller and the Runcam Split 2s HD camera. Since the HK 250 is a long discontinued product I had build some simple hangers and brackets to hold things in.

The camera quality is outstanding and well worth the extra effort. Youtube has a unique way of lowering definition down to 720 or less so the resulting video honestly ... does not do it justice.

How do you like that frame? If you take a close look at the manual it says "do not perform any extreme maneuvers as the frame will not handle it", LOL.  I was flying using that frame but honestly gave up on it - the arms are just not strong enough, they wobble quite a bit.

I stayed with 2204 2400kv motors on this one for that reason.  I'm afraid if I try to over torque it I will begin to see weird issues and overstress the frame.

Otherwise for a simple drive around drone I've been very happy with it. Damage is not a matter of "if" .... but more of a "when" this happens.

A 4s 1000 will give me a decent 5 -6 minute fly.   ...you are right that it does feel a little loose(r) on a quick turn.

Most of what this is intended for is for an easy fly around.  I have a CF 220 frame that I use to really get out and push on it.

It makes for a good warm up quad too... fly around the course a couple times nice and easy plotting my best route. Second reason was the 220 didn't give me enough room for the runcam setup without having to completely rebuild it.  I had used an all in one board for esc's and to change it now would be a lot of work.  😋
