I ordered 2 times from him, but the last time I got the same bad experience with customerservice.
I got 2 ESC's that fried on their first use, got an an RMA and sent them back to grayson, after about 3 months (I gave it some time since I live in the Netherlands) and about a dozen emails from my side, with no answer whatsoever, I got Dave to intervene, and guess what, Grayson had just sent new ones. Or so he said.
Anyway I never got any and never any response to my emails since...( after Dave's intervention I got 1 email consisting of 1 whole line of text, saying that he had sent the ESC's)

Now the ESC's could have of course have very well gone missing in the mail, stuff like that happens, but grayson not addressing just one of my many emails with a reasonable stated and normally formulated answer did it for me...(still a pity since I have not found another source of their excellent Welgard motors Dave speaks about in a post above)
But hey: Hobbycity rules!
regards,
Martin

I had a fairly bad interaction with Grayson Hobby as well, and found their customer service to be atrocious. It was approximately two months from the time of my initial order until I was actually able to build my plane with all of the components that were supposed to be included in the first place. When I sent an email detailing my complaints, their response was that I was the one that was wrong, not them. I waited for weeks for them to finally send the items I had already purchased, without any response to my emails. I will never purchase another item from them again, and have already discouraged at least one friend from making a purchase.

Thanks Dave P. Good INFO.

I ordered from Grayson. Got GOOD stuff and BAD Stuff.

Dave has explained the quality control problem in China well. Thanks Dave P.

I got two (2) motor/ESC combos : The MicroJet w/ a 20AMP Grayson ESC and the SUPER SONIC motor w/ a 30 amp Grayson ESC.

Dave says he likes the MicroJet on light weight ParkJets.
After installing my new MicroJet v2 in a plane I connected a good Wattmeter. I used a 1200 mAh Lipo and a 6 x 4 APC prop. The MicroJet motor started to run erractically ( hiccuped) from the very first start. Within 30 seconds I had a THERMAL CUTOUT. The blue ESC from Grayson got too HOT to touch. And I was drawing just 7 amps at 70 watts.
I changed to a Jeti 30 Amp ESC It got too hot to touch in about 30 seconds at 90 Watts I had a thermal Cutout. I think that MicroJet motor is NO GOOD.

The Super Sonic v2 ran just fine on 1200 mAh Lipo and the Grayson ESC (30 amp) I could get over 200 Watts ( 5 seconds) and at 155 Watts at 15.8 amps it ran just fine on a 7 x 4 APC. I looged 8 minutes on it and the ESC did not give me a Thermal Cutout.

The Super Sonic v2 is OK BUT THE MICROJET v2 is NOT OK. The 20 amp Grayson ESC is for the birds too.
This experience makes me think if you get a Grayson product you are rolling the dice. The guy at Graysen said the reason I had thermal cutout was the soldering on the MicroJet was "LOOSE". Ha Ha what a snow job!

grayson hobbies is a joke

WHOEVER PROMOTED THESE GUY'S ON YOUR WEB PAGE ARE FULL OF FECAL MATTER...JUST LISTEN TO THIS FECAL MATTER, THIS IS THEIR ADVERTISMENT NOW CHECK IT OUT....After almost 2 yrs GraysonHobby and Welgard learned how to improve the original GH2212-06. Longer shaft along with some other Grayson special ingredients, GraysonHobby was worked closely with Welgard to develop an IMPROVED high speed high motor for high speed flying wings, park jets and just about anything else you want to go REALLY fast. Prop range is limited due to the High Kv (2200) rating of this motor. Use with 3 cell lipo battery capable of sustaining 30 amps. Prop range is from 5x5 to 6x4.. Park Jet designer Steve Shumate has even verified that this little combo is the ultimate power plant for his designs. Reaching 80mph is no problem with this setup....tHEY SAID gRAYSON hOBBY WORKED HARD ON THE DEVELOPMENT THAT IS A CROCK OF CRAP. i WORK ON OFFSHORE DRILLING RIGS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND I WORK 28 AND 28, I SWEAR AND I GOT THE MONEY IS DRIVE TO THESE VENDORE AND WHIP THE PISS OUT OF THEM HELL I GOT THE TIME AND I LIKE TO TRAVEL.....WHY NOT

The best service I've ever gotten was from Hobby King. Turnigy Motors are the stuff. 7-10 days on my delieverys. I'm totally bummed out at Grayson Hobby. I would be ashamed of myself if I endorsed them. Everything I got blew up the ESC's suck 2 out of 2 blew up the motor on the V2 super sonic was wired backwards and then all the magnets shatterd. Don't buy from them, I mean it go to Hobby King.........joe connick

you're in the same state as they are. Man, the USPS system is really bad. I can send something from coast to coast in Canada and it'll only take 3 days.
