Sorry to see the crash. It was flying so nicely.
Wot, no Depron?

I thought I was going to have to recycle my P.60 m2 when I crashed it and broke the right hand wing clean off and broke the nose.
I took the gear out and threw it in the back of the van and piled cardboard boxes on top of it to take to the tip.
I couldn`t bring myself to chuck it in the skip so I brought it home and stuck it back together and just like Jack and Jill wrapped the wounded wing in brown paper and a dab of paint and it looks almost as good as slightly used A bit more paint and then balance it up it should be good to go.

What glue do you use for your brown paper?

Thanks and cheers.

Hi Luis I used water based varnish which you recommended on this repair.
I used to use white PVA glue watered down 75% glue 25% water but I find the varnish is easier to use straight from the can it also adheres to the depron better than watered down glue.
Cheers.

With regrets I salvaged motor and electronics from my Ho229, badly damaged when I lost her in the sun at the end of last summer, and decided to dump her.

It was built in Depron reinforced by newspaper glued by water based floor varnish, when I wanted to tear it to pieces I was really surprised by the strength of the parts reinforced this way (sand lightly foam, dust it, and clean with 90º alcohol).

No amount of reinforcements will save your plane from a high speed crash, but it is a really a cheap and easy way to counter flex in a build, in the specific locations you want to reinforce.

Cheers.
