I finally got around to building this plane(Thank you F1wanabe). Not the easiest of builds compared to the simpler designs but it turned out well. I was skeptical about the motors mounted on the elevons thinking it would be difficult to control. I did not add any mixing of the throttle yet just simple elevon and rudder.

The maiden flight was in three parts as there were a couple of false starts but once in the air it handled extremely well. Kind of a rough final landing but that was operater error not the plane. I need to increase the throws so there is a little more authority. I will go to dual rates on the next outing.

I am so pleased with how this plane flies and I think with a little more experience and some added control it will surely be a great flyer.IMG_2575.JPG  IMG_2576.JPG

First, I love that paint scheme, Bob! Great job on that! It looked like a totally uneventful flight and you had the Mig cruising along really well. The nice thing about twin CR props is you can hod it by the nose and peg the throttles- it'll just launch straight without torque roll! Next flight I expect to see cobras and flat spins Great job!

Thanks F1. I kind of stole your paint scheme (which I thought was awesome) but tried to keep it simple. I hope to improve my performance with the MiG and learn how to use its capabilities. I’m a ways away from 3D flying but learning all the time.

The Mig truly is my all time favorite parkjet.

It flys fast... ...it will fly slow and glides surprisingly well.

Nice job Bob.
Fly like your mad at it.

Do you intend to use the motors as differential thrust?
I like to design and fly unique planes.

Just a quick video I uploaded from when Greg came to the UK last year. Video is raw and unedited, such a smooth flying plane!

Yes I do after I get a little more familiar with the basic setup. I am anxious to try that.

Nice flying. It looks like you have elevator, ailerons and flaps but no rudder is that right? Do you use differential thrust on the motors too?
How do you use the flaps? That is something I do not have any experience with.

Yes, that's right, I only have differential thrust for rudder. Flaps I use to keep the plane feeling floaty when you slow it right down, especially on landing and high alpha manoeuvres!

Thanks. I will have to try some flaps too. Just keeping it simple to start with.
Appreciate the help.
