Doesn't that motor mount make the plane pitch down when you gun it??

It does just a bit then levels it self, the angle i have right now i feel is the best as it will fly straight at almost anything throttle position. Ive got a 11dbi yagi on the way so im kinda excited and also maybe switching to frsky 2.4ghz with 1w booster and 7dbi patch antenna for 10km of fun.

edit, i know i have done many many edits with my radian, but I now have it down just the way i wanted, Ill get pictures tomorrow with explanation why.

Your videos are fantastic by the way - can't wait til my piloting improves enough to get into FPV I'd be facing catastrophic losses if I did it now

Just a question for you but how did you go about getting your SFOC for FPV Flights?

You dont need anything but a ham license for fpv and the ham is only for frequency.

Last and final rendition of my radian , fited all my wires so that it will not be touched when replacing battery or taking canopy off, added velcro in the front to choose whether to fly with a gopro or a spinner in front.

No, according to Transport Canada, when you fly via FPV (Like trappy) you need an SFOC to fly because the plane becomes classed as a UAV and UAV's require an SFOC....

Are you just using it to view the flight on a screen while the plane is still in sight?

Thats a bull **** law that no one follows, no point either in fpving if its like that. Im going out flying with a buddy tomorrow, hes an experience fpver so we will be seeing some 15km flights.

An update, a 52" wing will be on the way capable of up to 130mph+

My radian is still an fpv ship but for more aerial photography, this wing will be for proximity, high altitude, long range and mad fun.

Did the half-wave antenna to my Corona rp8d1 receiver today, pretty simply stuff extended the antenna length to 80". Did a ground test and was still working past 2.5km.

I felt really heavy and i didn't want that for riding thermals in the summer so I made the mount smaller and stepped down the 2215 scorpion to a hacker clone 20-28m. Didnt like having the video tx on the back possible being blocked on home flights by the motor so I moved that to the front and the receiver to the back, also helps with balancing. I did the velcro wing mod to hold the wings TIGHTLY together, its guaranteed to not move on high stress maneuvers. And lastly half wave Antenna, ran the wires to the tail and used a bullet plug to connect the rest of the antenna for easy transportation

I replaced the pan servo with a digital MG so now i have around 150 degree of view.
