I know its TOTAL CRAP ..... its not so bad as long no bright light gets in ... then it goes pinky and then saturates out ... tried correcting on PC but no joy ... its crap !!

Back to unreliable Soloshot ......

I have an old broken frame Sunglass camera and have thought about opening it up to mount the parts on an cheap pair of Tesco specs .... I need glasses and Sunglass cans do not sit over specs ...

What phone do you have? I shoot all my ground footage on a Samsung Galaxy S6. Pretty old phone now, but it has a full 1080p camera with digital stabilisation.

If you have a smart phone, it might be worth seeing what it's video's like.

Can you put a filter on the lens rather then trying to correct it on the pc?

Bit difficult to hold a phone while also twiddling the Tx sticks !!!

If I'm videoing and NOT also the pilot - then no problem - I have a Sony Handycam I use ...

I have a flat-peak baseball cap which I've built a couple attachments to hold the phone to my head. First one was cardboard, that's done most of my vids. I recently lost it and made another one out of depron. It's pretty good! 🙂

I have all sorts of cap mounts and clips for GoPro4 ... Sportcams etc. but having trouble with the battery life on such. I can make my model LiPo's last years ... but bloody camera batts - very quickly shagged out !!

Here's just a small selection of camera's I have :

This one is not so bad ... its designed to fit to a bicycle helmet with the head band .... it also has an LED aiming red spot ... but its misleading ... if you use it to set centre - the camera is actually too far to one side as the model is at greater distance ... so it takes care to set the red dot parallel to line of sight - not to centre.

I do have the two Soloshot auto tracking camera's ...

Just checked the Helmet cam .... still working OK ... I have thought about mounting it permanently on a Safety Hardhat ... as some guys do with GoPro's etc.
But given that I usually use my Soloshot as well - do I want to look silly ???

Then again given a couple of guys I fly with who get a bit close sometimes - maybe not a bad idea !!
