Just wondering if these thing will work with my F-35 V2. I am scaling it down to 75% and putting these in it.
Motor: Power Up 400 Zoom
ESC: 50 Amp
Prop: 6x4
Battery: 2200mAh 3s 30C
Servo: 4 9g Metal Gear

Rc, this is a good question for the f35 v2 easy build thread so that others can benefit from your question..
That will work fine with that plane. There will be a slight conflict between prop slot and rudder control cables. You will need to enlarge the prop slot for the prop to fit, causing the rudders to be too far inboard to run cables outside of the prop slot. You can solve this by mounting servos behind prop slot, but I always like to keep as much mass at or around cg. Good luck!

YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH 80%, AT 75% you would have to remove too much support.

Luke knows best! So i would
Go 80 % for sure!

Alright I send the plans with my dad to work tomorrow and have him print them out.
Thanks for the help!

If I put a Kf4 on it will it fly better with this setup as well?

It will make it more stable, on my F35 v2 i have kf2 airfoil and it flies great!

Here is maiden flight of my f35 v2 hope you like it

RC Fly and Drive -

It depends on how you want your F35 to behave. I have flown two F35 V2s in full size, one with Kf2 and one with Kf4 (actually 6mm on top and 3mm on bottom).

With the Kf2 airfoil, the F35 will float much more and sometimes not be quite as direct through the turns. It will do high alpha a little better and float more gently on approach and landing.

With the Kf4, it tracks like it was on rails, it still floats a bit when you need it to, but tracks more directly through the turns and is more predictable that way in my opinion.

I think the smaller you make a plane however, the less effect that Kfs have, for example, the V1 Mig would not fly as well with a Kf airfoil with a 24" wingspan.

So for me, my favorite is the Kf4 on the F35 as it tracks better, is predictable through the turns, cuts through the wind better and still has a bit of floatiness when you need it.

Cheers,

Scott

Normally you are spot on but this time I have to disagree. I always build my mug v1 with KF4 on it and it flies great. I think it helps in windy conditions and give durability to the plane. I built my first one with a KF2 and it would not for the life of me fly inverted without a lot of down elevator and I have to fight it the whole time. Then I installed the KF4 and love it

Cuz tooling around is just not my style of flying. Full stick and full travel control surfaces.

Interesting, I'll have to tape some on sometime and give it a try, most people I asked said not to bother with Kf on the V1 Mig, but I'm always up to try something new!

I should have added that I have flown my V1 Mig in some pretty good winds, up to 15 mph and it gets bounced around pretty good, but I love how when turned sideways to the wind in the vertical when you roll it almost spins across the sky! Still need to work on trying inverted flight with mine, too busy having fun with the crazy spins and tumbles and flying it closer...when it isn't lawn darting into the ground!

What thickness of airfoils did you use for Kf4 on the V1 Mig, ASD?

Cheers,

Scott

I used dollar tree foam on both sides. If you do the infamous F1 3.5 it will probably work also, but with his setup the bigger foam on top makes a plane this small a little floaty in my opinion

Thanks ASD -

I'll keep that in mind as an experiment on my next V1 Mig, I have lots of 3mm depron, I could try that top and bottom and see what difference it makes.
