Slaitemaith, the cg marks are good. Have you transfered them onto your plane well? As you said, many others have perfect maidens with the cg set exactly on the marks and mine was beautiful. One of the best maidens I've had.

If you have cg on the marks and it feels like you need a ton of weight on the nose, I'd look elsewhere.

Wow! What a beautiful plane!
And on the 8th day God said: "Go NAVY",.. and it was good! Pray like everything depends on God. Prepare like everything depends on you.

I just had to get it dialed in. It flies dreamily now--but I did have to put the battery as far toward the nose as I could. *Shrugs* Results are all I care about.

Sounds like you got it, way to go!

Got to basically hover it today in the wind with the flaps down.

Looks like she's flying pretty good now Slain. Could you possibly post a pic showing the location of the
cg per the plan and where it is located now?
Just another day in paradise!
Any day above ground is a GOOD day.

I marked the plan-based CoG at build time with some bits of depron--the real CoG is an inch, maybe an inch and a half forward of that.

So it's now balanced at the wing leading edge?

I've also put the CG exactly where the instructions say it should be and never changed it afterwards, tho I have to say I've only built the V3. But given the fact they're both F-18s the Version should be irrelevant to where the CG is.
