So I am about to finish up my second F-18v2, and ran into this new problem. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376089207.517815.jpg  see the dip in the left wing root where the wing meets the strake? Will that be a problem? Should I correct it with some support majiggers, or will it be fine? Just wanna finish this bad boy up and get it in the air!

Not that I am by any means an expert, but you have a lot of wing area on that plane and if it is curved/warped that much, it is more than likely going to cause you some handling problems or you are going to have to input so much trim to compensate that your plane may not fly the way you want it to.

Perhaps you could run a popsicle stick or some other way to straighten it without adding too much weight to the one side?

Are you putting any Kf airfoils on it? You may also be able to use some reinforcement or something to straighten, stiffen it between the Kf airfoil and your existing wing. Just my humble opinion, I would try and straighten it up as much as you can before trying to fly it. Hard to tell, but is that like a half inch difference between the two sides?

Cheers,

Scott

Take a hair dryer and set the wing flat and put it on hot and high till it straightens out I do this on curved dt foam. Hope this helps.

From here it looks as though the lerx area is just glued in a little too low. Can you cut the glue out and re glue it straight? That bend will theoretically give you different lift on each wing causing it to roll.

Simply use the hair dryer technique I told you up there...

Or, put a full length kf on top and equal them out by sanding.
But you couldn't fix that warpage by gluing it straight? Am I looking at the same picture? Haha. It looks like you should just be able to glue it into position straight. This part?

Through the picture it might just be me but it looks like back of the right wing is warped to...

No, its a crappy picture. The other strake is warped down at the wing root. Ill post a vid in a sec.

I would cut and revalue and then add kf's up top and try to straighten them out.....or it will try to roll by itself...
