I just got the Eflite 400 size motor with a 20 amp ESC. I'm gonna use it with the Hawk Sky and my E300. Here's what it looks like: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1305

Thats one nice motor you got there! What prop do you plan on using? It does have 920KV which generally means you spin a big prop, but I think you'll be ok. Lots of power in that thing!

the hawk skys a pusher right? if it is and only has about 6inches of clearance for the prop your SCREWED that thing needs to turn an 10'inch APC or 9 inch prop to develop any power. I have the 920KV and i'm not impressed at all with its performance on a variety of airplanes. :nope:

Not to say that you wasted your money...but you wasted your money, unless you plan on mounting it on the front with a folding prop....
The Ideal motor for the hawk sky would be a GH Super Mega Jet.

sure! if your hawk sky can fly on about 55 watts of power those arent good for anything but lightweight 5-3 oz 3D planes or 8-10 oz slowflyers. there overrated and the wires break REALLY easily where they meet the stator. I have 4 of e'm.

I'll probably try the rctimer one. I can't order from grayson because, after 4 weeks of waiting, I still don't have anything from them!

My first order took 6 weeks to come from them. 3 of which it spent somewhere between them and the international shipping depot as someone's car booster seat on it's way to Miami. The really odd thing is that it's about 11 hours drive from their old location to Miami Florida. Hell, I've driven from Montreal to Miami 16 hours. I could have drove to grayson, picked it up and been home the next day....

Wow. They need to improve a little bit with their shipping or they are gonna loose a lot of business.

I do agree with you there. If a company wants to be well known they do need to ship there products promptly. Of course...shipping is everything!
