Just curious regarding low light conditions and FPV. Most (if not all) FPV cameras come with an IR filter. If you take that out, you essentially have some sort of night vision, right?

Hmm something resembling it Yes ๐Ÿ™‚  you don't suddenly have a camera that (only) handles IR.. Most sensors capture Near IR (besides the normal spectrum)..
so yep.. without that filter you Will see more at night..

This is actually an Old capture I did with a camera without an IR filter:

That makes sense; I might give that a try at some point just for laughs

Did a quick little splattering of video just to make sure everything is responding and talking to one another nicely.
VTX is reponding. Radio telemetry is talking and the DVR is recording correctly.

I've done nothing in the way of tuning yet so I look a little clumsy on the sticks. The answer I was looking for is YES ... it works ! I also need to de-clutter the FPV screen a bunch. Omit the pilot name in CLI and tighten up the font a little bit. It just looks messy.

Talk about a wide eye view with the new Toothless Camera too ... very nice. Attached is a view of a quick first test run.

looks to me like it at least works and the video-feed is pretty clean ๐Ÿ˜ƒ  I like that ๐Ÿ™‚
and yeah.. bit to much clutter on-screen indeed ๐Ÿ˜‹

you never fly in acro mode by the way? :$

(the longer / more you fly in auto-level, the harder it will be to switch to acro-mode)

Halloa people ๐Ÿ™‚

Time for yet another side-by-side comparison ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
on paper the Foxeer Predator 4 & Runcam Racer 3 are very both very similar & capable Racing FPV camera's..
To this I should add that I generally very much prefer the Racer 2 & 3 from Runcam over other camera's.. BUT I am ready to be proven wrong! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I have got to hand it to you Mr. Dutch.

This toothless Foxeer cam when even peppered with grass clippings,  is still by far my best image inside the goggles.
... and this coming from me once being thoroughly convinced, Runcam has the best lens going.

Thank you sir this truly was the hot tip for me.

I did pick up and replace my original "super wide" toothless v1 with a v2. Very... very nice little camera. .. but no it wasn't the nano scale.

I am real happy with this camera quality,  picture clarity and white balance.  Yes it works well in low light but what impressed me most was the wide dynamic range the light sensor has.  It doesn't wash out facing into the sun or on approach to a light source flying at night.

Well worth the purchase and ironically the price is right in line with any other atypical analog cam.

This truly was one of your better recommendations and would not have known it without your review.

Thank you again Dutch ..  very well done and keep 'em coming 👍

Thanks and completely agree! That Toothless 2 is a great buy ๐Ÿ™‚ Not one probably I would use on the Faster quads..

Other then that it makes it a lot more enjoyable to fly in the evening ๐Ÿ™‚
