It's a fancy looking quad! And I will say for those props - my Diatone's not using those exact ones, but they are Gemfan's and 5-inchers - they can take a beating. Mine have gone through four tumbles already now, one was quite fall from about one story and all that's done is scuff the glossy look, quad still flies fine!

I noticed a few Stretch models around recently, when looking for tutorials and reviews of the GT-M530, I found most people have the stretch one - I've gone with standard so the props take up less of the camera view. But what is the advantage and/or disadvantage to having a stretch quad?

In very short: in a streched-X config the rear props aren't as much in the prop-wash of the front-props..
This is a simplification of what actually happens, but basically that is the reason 🙂

Ah, I see! I was thinking it had something to do with the roll rates being different from the pitch rate or something!

Well yeah.. You DO have more leverage on 1 axis over the other, but you could mimick the same "feel" with actual rates....

Good to know they don'y get too much more twitchy on the higher S batteries. My 4S quad is lugging around a 3S 2200mAh battery while I wait for the 4S 1500 to arrive. I was assuming the oversized battery and lower S made it easier to control, but I guess the difference is really in the higher points of the throttle.

yeah.. lower S (as in lower performance) mostly just makes it harder to keep the quad off of the ground, and you have less of a power-reserve to get yourself out of trouble when needed..
The Thought of 6S (I offten get the "wow man! a 6S quad? 😮" responce in the field) might intimidate people.. but really.. buying a 4S-only quad in 2019.. I would only do so if there isn't a 6S version of the quad..
