Wow! That design looks awesome. It would definitely look awesome in the air.
Tilting front rotors would make it similar to the Flitetest Avatar gunship, it would be very cool but more difficult to achieve as you would need to get the correct controller board and flash it. That would also mean that the third tail rotor would not be required. The problem with this design is that it is difficult to fly.
A tri-rotor with fixed front rotors and a moveable tail rotor would offer you the best manoeuvrability and flight dynamics.
IMHO, the best and simplest way to start might be the second option. It may not fly exactly like the Orca in the game flew but it would still look awesome.
You can use stock standard parts and flight principles to start with.
You can always re-configure it later with more complex controller boards.
I am sticking with plain tricopter setup for two reasons:
One: I am on a budget that is really low
Two: I am way too lazy to flash a board to do this.
anyway, I have worked a little more on the design. Its been horrible weather for the past three weeks, too much wind here to do anything. I can't even take my RC Heli up because it hates wind and its battery had a conniption.... it wont stay in the air for more than 5 seconds before i get the lovely show of it bouncing around the grass..........
