I did a few searches about what the inner diameter measurement should be for 3mm carbon tubes, but didn't really find a solid answer. I was going to order the 3mm x 1.5mm x 1000mm tubes from rcfoam, but there are a few other options. So I thought I'd see what others are using.

I use 3mm all the way up to 12mm and all different inside diameters. I have a rule of thumb that usually works. As long as its at least 2mil thick on the smaller ones its ok. I just don't like rods anything that's not a rod is good for me

Its just foam not perfection. build it close to the plans and it will fly, then learn to customize. But most of all, JUST HAVE FUN!!!!!
Cuz tooling around is just not my style of flying. Full stick and full travel control surfaces.

The 3mm OD tubing with a 2mm ID works fine and is slightly cheaper per tube.
