Very impressive build. I saw the Vulcan at the Royal International Air Tattoo 11 years ago and it was incredible.

Not a patch on my new one - just waiting for the right weather to maiden...

Have been playing with a full size one too - very impressive for it's time...

Whoever said nothing is impossible had obviously never tried slamming a revolving door...

Britain's favourite cold war nuclear bomber. That's an awesome looking Vulcan m8. Did you do a build blog?

We actually went and saw XH558 on her final tour of Britain last year - such an amazing sight in the air and I feel privileged to have been able to see her before she retired. Such a crying shame there's none flying now but what an amazing experience to see first hand.
My other half actually took a video but the orientation isn't great due to her being dumb struck by the sight and forgetting she was filming!

i missed the final tour but was lucky to have a special fly past for our model show a few years ago,it will be sadly missed.

After adding some under carriage I went mad and built the underside of the airfoil up, changed the nose and generally improved the look of the plane to give it more of a scale look. Including going for scale elevons which are split and hinged seperately.

Sadly having the undercarriage installed it was too heavy so wouldn't take off from the runway (although it was very rough for the size of wheels) and a hand launch just ended in a gentle glide down.
So undercarriage was removed, holes taped up and for extra intake area I removed the lower cover over the EDF inlets. This time she flew - very well and has a nice scale look to her!
The glide path is incredible and the whole flight was done pretty much on third throttle. Landing is an art form as it has so much lift it just refuses to come in but once you're ready for it you can bring her in nicely without any dramas.

Now ready for some underside patching due to stubble rash bringing her in but other than that it's paint time and get her airborne once more!

She flew superbly Sterling. What are your estimates on weight and thrust?
It didn' look under powdered with the 2 50mm Doctor Mad thrusts.
Regards
Dan
