Well its been 2,924 miles since I started driving my car, so I decided to do my first oil change. I didn't want to go to the dealership because I just like to work on things like this. Well, when we got the car the dealership did a free oil change for us, and in doing so they tightened the drain plug and oil filter so tight, I played Hercules to get it unscrewed, but ended up stripping the drain plug and for the oil filter I used 2000 grit sandpaper to get a grip on the very slippery "Chrysler" oil filter. I bought a purolator oil filter because it has a rough surface I can grip with my hands, and I also know for a fact it is made completely of metal. I bought Castrol Edge with Titanium, because I don't like to cheap out. Well, there my little adventure for the day. Live long and prosper.
Don't tread on me!

Nice, and wait until you can do your brakes in 20 minutes for free, even free pads!

i don't trust anyone for service...i do my own oil and basic stuff like brakes and suspension on my own cars...short of an aligment or a punctured tire..i never go to repair shops if i can avoid it...

I'm with Dan. As long as I have the time, I do everything myself. The Titanium oil is very good. I go 10,000 miles on it easy. I put the miles in so quickly, and it's all highway, that the oil still looks clean, so synthetic is definitely worth the cost.
Btw, lefty loosey and righty tighty takes a little thought when you are looking at the drain plug upside down and from the back! Haha.
