Halloa people 🙂

as most of you probably know by now the new version of Ikarus's Aerofly has recently been released! 🙂
Happy days! I am not sponsored by them in any way, but to me it is THE airplane / heli simulator..

In this thread anyone can post their experience with the sim.. I'll allso be posting a few video's
of my own..

And to start things of.. Here is a video on how to get started with RC8..
This is actually quite unique: In this video I show you how to install a trial version.. This is not offered directly by Ikarus (but they did O.K. me posting this)

All kinds of planes, multi rotors, heli's, cars & boats..

Gonna have to correct one point u made:

I've learned flying RC planes in RealFlight, an RC flight simulator that was on presentation at my local electronics store, and from my countless hours I've spent flying a sh!tton of different planes in that (all done on the presentation thing) I'd say it's definitely strong competition to AeroFly. And judging by the looks of it AeroFly could just aswell BE RealFlight and vice versa. Lacking own experience with AeroFly I have to say I don't know which one is better, but from my own experience with RealFlight I can tell that that is definitely realistic enough to learn flying with, and AeroFly sure looks like that to me aswell.

Howdy sir 🙂

well! I.... I take nothing back 😋  ghehe
I have no steak in it but have a lot of experience with basically all RC flight sims. The difference isn't as big as say 5-10 years ago.. Back then there was basically 1 flight sim, and then there were several games..
The core difference is the physics engines the programs are based on, and the differences in those play out in for instance how wind behaves (updrafts / thermals / wind around mountains)..
Then there are the graphics, but that's essentially unimportant as a simulator.
Yes.. RealFlight is indeed a good sim these days, and Far better then no sim 🙂

A second video in this series then 🙂
In this one I use Aerofly only as a tool (for you) to learn to fly LOS with Multirotors.. I come across quite a lot of people that can Only fly FPV 😮

For me it's backwards, I can only fly LOS and even when I do manage to force my eyes off the quad and look at the screen they snap right back to the quad after less than a second. I wouldn't wanna try FPV without some simulator experience at that anyway. I've gotten so used to flying LOS only that I think it would take some serious training just to keep my eyes locked on whatever kind of screen I'm using instead of probably even taking my goggles off if I wore any.

ah yes. Flying FPV for sure takes a bit of getting used to, and finding the confidence in it.. It is very disorienting at first (you Think you know your flying-spot, but it will suddenly look Completely different 😃)
So yep.. there are sims for that.. AND bring a spotter along for your first IRL FPV sessions..
That said.. FPV flying is a part of the hobby wurth trying (and that's from someone that tried to resist it for quite a while 😋)
