I'm finishing my first build. I got all of the wiring worked out and installed the motor. On the first throttle test the motor spun quickly and then stopped (all in less than a second). The same thing happened on a second and third tests. The esc and motor both get VERY hot, very quickly. I removed the motor and took it apart. The bearing seem fine and there was not anything lodged inside the motor. I'm at a loss for what to do next. I've ordered a second motor and esc to see if I simply have bad parts.

I appreciate any ideas or suggestions on what to do next. Still trying to get to that maiden flight.

Thanks and happy landings,
Mike

Mike,
If anyone should be able to give you a response with substance, you need to provide more facts about your system. Type of motor, ESC, battery etc...
