When I bought my lipo for my transmitter it was titled transmitter pack.So include that in your search when you go to purchace one and check the measurements of the pack so you know it will fit in your transmitter. Also see if your manual states which one to use.Hope this helps Jerry1948. Transmitter batteries just so you know have a over and under charge safety built into them where as the standard lipo doesn't.

I bought the Turnigy tx battery for my FlySky tx , a little snug but it fits, I just had to change the end .

I use tired flight batterys !  I have two 9x and three 9xr radios.

One 9x has still the NiMh in it and works a charm with Smartieparts basic board. Flies my FlySky / WLtoys stuff. I use a Futaba M series charger from the 1980's ...

Second 9x has a 3S 1500 LiFe pack in it and powers the brilliant AR9x board ... which sadly is no longer available.

One 9xr has the Turnigy 9xr 3S 2200 low C rated Tx LiPo which has been excellent - but can only be charged at max 1C

The other two 9xr have old common 2200 / 2400 3S LiPo's in that are now no longer good for flight motors - but are still more than capable for the low Tx power.

I charge ALL of them outside the Tx cases by usual LiPo / LiFe chargers ... There actually is no real need for special Tx packs ... its in  my view a marketing ploy.

I even use old LiPo's via uBEC in gasoline and glow planes ... just because they cannot thump out 20A or so for a motor does not mean they cannot supply 5A or so for Rx / servo use.
Average Tx demands about 300 - 600mA ..... its why NiMh are fine in Tx's ...

The TX batteries have a built in safety for over and under charging them , over charged battery can be detrimental to your tx

If the lipo is charged for example by any of my B6 ... B6mini ... Accucel 6 80W programmable chargers - why do I need over-charge protection ? Thousands .. probably millions of RC'rs around the world are using straight LiPo's in Tx's and also for Rx's ....

I can remember pages on pages of forums like RC Groups ... Wattflyer ... EHelicopter etc. all discussing merits of putting normal LiPo's into Tx''s and removing NiMh ...

In fact is it not Spektrum that supply LiIon packs that are basically straight cells for some of their Tx's .... LiPo is basically LiIon with a Polymer addition. I know Spektrum are not only brand that do this.

My 9xr Turnigy Tx LiPo ... gets charged same as any other LiPo  ... the charger shuts off at 12.60V same as any other LiPo ... the battery itself does not terminate that charge ...

In terms of over-discharge ............. all my radios give warning buzzer when voltage drops too low.

I'm not trying to be difficult - I just do not understand the point of such over charge / over discharge protection - when any reasonable charger will safeguard that anyway ... along with radio beeping like mad if it gets too low ...

I can only see point of charge protection if someone was daft enough to still use the old NiMh charging socket on the Tx ...
