So I was snooping around Kijiji last night and fell into this.
Guy bought it and that's it. Everything was still in its plastic in the box! Assembled, bound and mixed in 25 minutes.
He wanted 50, I offered 40CAD and Bob's your uncle.
I was looking around and these go for around 100usd so I'm pretty happy!

MMMMMMM nice, your gonna have to be careful with that Peter. What is it?
Does it have safety features like gyros and self righting stuff?

Oh, I don't like the handling of those. Have flown one of 'em in a simulator before and absolutely loathed the tendency to prop-strike on landing (it had a landing gear).

Heck of a deal, Peter, well done! :)

Is it meant to be flown on 3 or 4S?

Best of luck with the maiden flight :)

    Cheers,

    Scott

Thanks for all the comments, guys. It's meant to fly on a 450 3s, but I've seen 2s vids. Yes, I've seen on Mr YouTube it does "zip" along, but I've really reduced limits and have expo at 55. I've never let my flying skills hold me back, so I'll take it easy, fligh high and bring it down in deep grass.
That's my modus operandi and I think that's better than sitting around worrying about the "what ifs". For me, mind set is of utmost importance any time, but especially on a maiden!
I'll hopefully have some video for you soon!

  8. That looks like a fun plane, good score :). How big is it and what power setup did it come with? For $40.00 you can't go wrong , just a cheap as building a foamy.

    Hi,

All good. You'll see initial challenges, but it boils down to needing to chuck harder & 75% throttle. Happy dude. Just needs fine tuning.

  10. Did you find the canopy? ;)

By fine tuning do you mean crash it twice and rip the canopy off?
    I`d consider that radical tuning:D
I can just imagine Britain in 1938 at Supermarine.
Technician approaches RJ Mitchell in his office.
"I`m afraid were having ground handling problem with the Spitfire sir and when we do get it in the air it starts to porpoise at 250 knots."
RJ Mitchell. "Ok I `ll just get Homey on the telephone"
RJ replaces the hand set on the cradle of the phone after a brief conversation and mops his brow with his handkerchief.
Technician. Is every thing alright sir?
    RJ. "Yes yes, I`m fine"
"What did Homey recommend sir?"asks the Technician.
RJ replies. "Crash the bloody thing twice and rip the canopy off"
    Technician. Seriously sir?
RJ. "Yes but only if the wind is in the wrong direction". Pulls out his pipe fills it with tobbaco and shoots himself in the head with it.
    Technician. "Oh bugger!"

Well, I`m glad you found the canopy and the Zipper is ok:)
I enjoyed the video and if I were a poet I may have been inspired to right a sonnet.:D

It floats in nice peter, you do well with landing gear on some of your other planes.I expect you will adding them on this one instead of ripping it up in the tall grass after time. Jim

High marks for originality Pete! Did you do the yellow markings with a sponge? I once painted my Dad's bathroom that way, put down a base color and take a sponge filled with paint and apply willy nilly. You'll definitely be able to see that little bird now! Love the name too. :D

Exactly. It was sponge worthy! Overly colorful for my aging eyes.
