Dave: We can easily make your wife proud. As it turns out there are a few important things you can look for to get the right RC jet the first time. The two biggest problems with most RC jets are:
- Not enough power.
- Not stable enough.
You can solve this by getting a jet with a large enough motor and wide enough wings. The numbers to look for are at least a 70mm EDF motor and a wingspan of 28 inches (71 CM) or more. Do that and everything else falls into place.
Bill: Wow, that easy? I’ll get one right now!
A few days later I got a call from Bill, he was so ecstatic that the new RC jet flew perfectly. He was easily able fly for several hours without a hiccup and even squeeze some cool tricks in.

A few weeks ago Bill and I were flying around his new RC jet at the local park when we both noticed it was flying kind of sluggish. Most RC jets you can buy aren't meant for stunts, the designers often cut corners to make the jet HARDER to control, but there's always ways to fix that.
So I made an adjustment at the field using a technique mentioned in module 31 of the Perfect ParkJet System. The adjustment takes no tools and no special parts. In fact you can use EVERYTHING already on the jet, it’s just a matter of moving a few parts around in the right away.

We flew Bill’s jet after the ONE adjustment from the Perfect ParkJet System and it was like we added thrust vectoring to the jet!
