"I'm impressed!" Is what both Keith and I said when we first opened the box to our RTF Walkera Sea Knight from XHeli.com. This is truly the cutting edge of RC helicopter technology and being from one of the most respected companies, Walkera, you know its gonna be good. What jumped out at us first is the solid aluminum frame the entire heli is built around! Then there is the beefed up landing gear as well as CNC aluminum swashplates! Its just feels so solid in your hands! This is what your heli looks like after you upgrade it, and it comes this way stock! The motors, servos, receiver/gyro, battery, and the ESC are all of good quality. I don't know how they did this, but its just truly genius the way all these parts work together as such a synchronized team to make this cutting edge heli fly! Honestly we were really blown away at how well this designed, built, and flew! If you are thinking about getting one of these, get it! You will really like it!

Dave's Flight Tips:
  1) Practice on a RC Flight Simulator first! Its a very stable heli that almost flys itself! Don't wreck it, invest in a $20 sim and get your crashing over with on that first.
2) Fly over grass, and if you get into trouble just cut the throttle to zero and let it land. Don't have it crash and beat itself into the ground because you are too slow to cut the throttle.
3) Make sure your trim tabs on your elevator, roll, and rudder are in neutral and your throttle trim is all the way DOWN when you fire it up. If you don't, the radio will think that you are holding the sticks and it will not start up.
4) If your heli ever acts weird, unplug the battery, turn off the radio, set all the trims to neutral (except the throttle trim put to DOWN) and restart everything. This is a flying computer, it needs to be restarted sometimes, no biggy.
5) Get extra packs of blades! The blades are the only thing that really breaks. Also I got (2) extra batteries and a set of flybars for it.
6) Ghetto Repairs: When you crash and break the blades, if its minor enough you can "rebuild" the tips of the blades with tape and cut the tape to match the shape of the blade. Plus, if your flybar gets bent, you can bend it back, same with the swashplates. It won't be as straight as it was but because the RPMs are not super fast it's very forgiving and will fly damaged without vibration.

7) For advanced guys, move the pushrods out a few holes to get more throw.

I HIGHLY recommend with the money you save in getting this one, is to invest in a $19.99 flight simulator for your computer. These things come with controls used in all RC planes and helicopters and allow you to learn your lefts, rights, ups, downs, backwards, and forwards. This is how I learned to fly RC and what I use today to improve my skills.
